friends that we meet, food that we eat : friendsgiving 2013

Saturday began the celebration of Thanksgiving. A friend hosted a friendsgiving dinner to ring in the food fest. My roommate and I decided to make a tomato pie, a fresh fall salad, and cranberry sauce. fresh fall salad

We combined mixed greens, 2 chopped beats, sliced pears, sliced strawberries, goat cheese, and toasted almonds. The dressing consisted of olive oil, fresh squeezed lemon juice, honey, apple cider vinegar, salt and pepper. The dressing was a little lost amongst the flavors in the salad, but it made for a delicious fresh green addition to the table.

Look at the feast!

Molly baked a tasty berry bourbon pie! She outdid herself with cut out alphabet letters in the crust to mark the occasion.
