To start off this blog, I must describe one of my favorite pastimes, baking. My friends and I decided to jump start the weekend of Music Midtown with a brunch at my apartment. While it was all things breakfast, what’s breakfast without a little sweet treat to get you going. I found a recipe for a crepe cake (on pinterest of course) and did a slight alteration to make it suit the occasion. I used this recipe: http://www.thekitchn.com/make-crepes-cooking-lessons-from-the-kitchn-195381 and did the optional vanilla teaspoon and added about a teaspoon of cinnamon to spice it up. Then, take heavy whipping cream (about 2 cups) and whip it with an electric mixer until it is fluffy. To add a little more substance to the cake, I sliced strawberries in half and added 4-5 per layer (alternating the spacing on each layer) on top of the whipped cream. Add a few berries on top for finishing touches, then voila a crepe cake for a brunch party!
